An innovative internal research and development team supports the company in the development of new cutting edge technologies and equipments in order to provide our customers with the optimum inspection solutions.
Innospection runs its R&D department with highly qualified engineers experienced in physics, mechanics, electronics and software. Their expertise and know-how in electromagnetic non destructive testing technologies, application development to inspection tasks as well as pipeline inspection technology support not only the standard inspection requirements but also in application developments to solve particular inspection tasks.
With their large experience and expertise in pipeline inspection technologies, the main focus for new developments are pipeline inspection solutions for both topside and subsea applications.
Due to the market requests and our strength in application developments, the following advanced inspection tools for subsea applications have been successfully launched:
- Marinised Internal Caisson Inspection Tool
- Marinised External Riser Pipe Inspection Tool
- Internal Gas Riser Inspection Tool
- Multiple Sensor Array Crack Detection Tool

Innospection’s innovation has also led to the developments of heat exchanger tube sheet crawlers which allow the inspection of coolers without removal of the header, stainless steel furnace pipe scanners for crack and corrosion detection, boiler tube inspection tools and other application demanded inspection tools.
The recent major steps forward in Innospection’s research and development activities are the developments of the Flexible Riser Inspection Tool, Downhole Inspection Tool and other internal pipe (non piggable pipes) scanning tools.
